I took this photo in May of 2016 on a Dominican study travel to Bali, Indonesia. Dr. Rosemarie Michaels and I, along with two other Dominican colleagues, participated in a “Golden Hour” morning excursion around Ubud. It was very peaceful and quiet, just as the sunlight was coming through the trees in early morning. It is one of the most Zen moments I have ever experienced. All we could hear were the sounds of nature (birds, water, footsteps on leaves, etc.). I’m so happy I was able to capture the essence of that moment with this photo. How I felt in that moment is still with me to this day.
