A Place to Call Home: A Collection of Short Stories explores the complexities of home, home being a symbol for connection, safety, acceptance, and survival. Home contains the beginning of a human life, and without a stable and consistent home life, with consistent and reliable caretakers, one can be cast out, an alien in a strange and unforgiveable land, unable to grow, connect, and become a fully realized adult. The subjects of neglect, bullying, marital affairs, and poverty are explored in a variety of settings and characters.
