Abstract
The medium-sized and small businesses have been played the very important and significant parts to Taiwan’s economy society for a long while. As known, in the pass years, the medium-sized and small businesses seldom spent much budget for intellectual property affairs, for example, they invent goods without worldwide prior arts and patent search before they manufacture the goods thus makes them usually unconsciously infringe other’s patent right. They also neglect filing worldwide patents before the invented goods entering the markets thus makes them losing the right to exclude others from making, using or selling the invented goods. As a result, with the development and growing of industrial technology, more and more intellectual property competition occurred and become a serious attack to the medium-sized and small businesses of Taiwan. Obviously, for being competitive to those large-sized enterprises, the patent strategy and management for the medium-sized and small business should be highly valued and studied.
