Instagram's Influence on Fashion Advertising

Abstract/Description

The purpose of this paper is to look into social media’s current role in the couture fashion advertising industry and its influence on how modern ads are being created, who is "modeling" in the advertisements, and what the ads look like now compared to how they looked before the rise of social media. This study uses Vogue magazine as it's base for research, due to the fact that Vogue is known for its advertisements. I will be using a case study on Vogue’s Instagram to document the app’s influence. I will be paying close attention to the use of electronic word of mouth (eWOM) and the importance of celebrity brand.
