Abstract/Description
As a child I spent so much time in my grand mom’s backyard, a tropical paradise located in suburb Yangon, Burma. There were ponds with crystal clear water and emerald-colored “magic plants,” floating bed on a water. I laid on these plants, watched tadpoles, stared at clouds, smelled the trees and picked flowers.
Years later I returned to the backyard and there were no flowers, no trees, and no “magic plants,” just a pool of contaminated water. Through this artwork, I'm able to revisit and recreate memories and fill in parts forgotten. Once again, I watch tadpoles, stare at clouds, smell the trees and pick flowers.
