Abstract/Description
Background: The shelter-in-place order (SIP) was first implemented in six counties in the Bay Area to reduce the impact of COVID-19 related cases on emergency department resources. Our goal was to assess the impact of COVID-19 on diabetic emergency department visits in Marin County.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective descriptive and trend analysis of all the diabetic ED visits in Marin County, California from January 1, 2016 to October 25, 2020 to quantify the temporal dynamics of diabetic ED visits before and after the SIP order issued on March 17, 2020. Results:
