Abstract/Description
Our team is participating in a simulation that was assigned to us by our professor that allows us to apply every aspect of business knowledge we have learned over the course of our time here at Dominican University. We will be managing an International shoe company and our mission is to help generate maximum profit for all stakeholders. The growth is measured in terms of “years” and 1 year occurs every week once the simulation has began. We will make decisions on all aspects of the company such as production sourcing, price in various markets, stock distribution and nearly every component that goes into running a successful international firm. This will be a competitive market place and the various companies we will compete against will be our classmates who’s team seek to accomplish the same goals as ours. In order to be successful we will create a business model as a team that we feel is unique and also analyze what other companies are doing so we may adjust numbers to have a “competitive edge” as we try to gain market share. This project will teach us some of the real world problems that can arise when managing an international firm. This project will equip us will the skills to move further in our professional careers. This project will show us our strengths and weakness in the business world. By the end of the semester we will have worked through multiple “years” as business managers and we will be more equipped with skills that will improve our chances to be successful in the business world.
