Description
This is the Virginia and Truckee Railroad Engine #25. It is part of the operable collection of the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City, NV. I took this picture in July 2025 during the annual Star Spangled Steam Up. It was towards evening, and I thought the surrounding landscape made a nice enhancement. They were running the train for photo ops after a brief excursion ride. You will notice in this picture that the smoke is quite dark, something you do not see when a steam locomotive is running at peak efficiency.
