Abstract

Rebecca Harding Davis’s Life in the Iron Mills explores the lives of Welsh immigrants in an industrial mill town in the 1830’s American south. This paper explores the destructive effects of industrial capitalism through the lens of Marxist ecofeminism and argues that the condition of human lives cannot be considered in separation from the natural environment.
