Abstract

Although Hildegard von Bingen lived in the 12th century, she captivates artists, theologians and those looking for the feminine aspect of God. She was a woman of many talents. Through contemplation of her paintings, which illustrate her visions, viewers are most drawn into her mystical world and cosmology. Hildegard reveals the universe as a whole, completed by the feminine aspect of God.
