Abstract
This culminating project is a custom designed guidebook for the students at Marin Catholic High School, who, as part of the Italian language program, take academic educational trips to Italy every two years. The guidebook has been created to serve as a reference for the painting, sculpture, and architecture that the students will study while on their tour. The guide is arranged according to the travel itinerary, and it complements the tour by helping students to comprehend the significance of the art, history, and culture in which they immerse themselves. Special attention is given to the Italian Renaissance, although information on pre- and post-Renaissance movements is also included. In addition, the guidebook provides historical information on the cities that are visited, and it provides complete reference listings for students who wish to pursue further studies.
