Abstract

This thesis seeks to inspire a new interest in art history in young adults, presenting a fictional story, which incorporates a wide selection of art historical information. By juxtaposing selected artists from five different eras and regions of the world in a futuristic setting, this story discusses the nature of artistic talent, and tries to isolate circumstances, cultures, and times to discover the art spirit. The story evolves around a fictional piece of art, created by morphing together elements of original artworks by these selected artists , thus bringing into existence a new and original piece of art, yet a piece of art by multiple artists. The goal of the story is for the young reader to receive a broad impression of artistic expressions with its various contexts and consequences in an entertaining as well as informative manner.
