Abstract
This study is an attempt to give a factual account of an obscure but important episode in American intervention in North Russia following World War I's involvement of the United States in European affairs. Involvement in the internal affairs of Russia had stared in 1918 while the United States was fighting a war against Germany and there were some clear-cut reasons for American presence in North Russia. With the signing of the Armistice on November 11, 1918, those reasons were no longer valid; American forces, however, remained in Russia for most of 1919 and became constantly more involved in the Russian Civil War.
