Abstract
In the state of California, preschool programs vary drastically from one school to the next. This quantitative study was collected, identified, and analyzed what curricula and practices preschools in Petaluma are using to prepare children for kindergarten. A closed ended survey design was used to collect data from the preschools about their daily routines and practices. The survey provides survey results from nine preschool programs and the components of such programs. Similarities and differences between the preschools are reported, as well as a discussion on how these meet the needs of children, family, teachers who populate it.
