Abstract
A brief history of the roots of art therapy is discussed, which leads to the need to gather pertinent art therapy tasks from previously published and orally presented materials. These researched tasks are assigned to the developmental stages of the child, adolescent, adult, and the elderly, including chapters for couples, families and groups. An extensive list of materials and books is offered and specific materials are suggested for each art therapy task or intervention. A preface described the need for this handbook to be used only by art therapy professionals, who will find it a useful reference guide that will expedite preparation time and solidify their knowledge.
