Abstract
This paper presents a study done to explore the effects of adoption on an adoptee’s identity. Kinetic Family Drawings were gathered from a total of 15 matched pairs of subjects, both adult and children, and a list of graphic indicators related to identity and self-image was created to evaluate the drawings. Results showed that though the direction of the scores was largely as predicted, the differences between the experimental and control groups were not statistically significant. Further research in this area is recommended and warranted.
