Abstract

A grant proposal and attachments submitted in partial satisfaction of the requirement for the degree of Master of Art Therapy. The grant was written in professional third party form, as requested, while I was employed as The Day Treatment Coordinator for Jackson County, Oregon Mental Health Services. The Grant was awarded and training completed in 1990. The formal implementation of the use of individual client art expression was thereafter used as a tool and integrated into the Boston University Model as part of the technology to assist CMI clients in determining their own personal values and goals. I wish to thank my supervisor Scott Hampson and the manager of Mental Health Services, D. Greg Schneider, both employees of Jackson County. Health and Human Services, The State of Oregon. I also sincerely thank the many clients I learned so much from while working with them at Passages, the day treatment component of The County Mental Health Services. Praise must be extended to my first on-site supervisor, Abraham Freidman of the Children's Program at Napa State Hospital, California. With pleasure, I give generous thanks to my many teachers in The Art Therapy Program at CND, especially The Director, Doris Arrington and my graduate advisor, Elizabeth Ratcliff.
