Abstract
This paper is a source of information on the literature and practice of Art Therapy in France today. It is an overview intended notto test a hypothesis or make predictions or comparisons, but to broaden the body of knowledge in the field, describe existing phenomena for the benefit of creative therapy professionals, and serve as a reference for obtaining literature or making contacts from France.
The data contained here was collected through a search of librairies, journals, and literature, along with reference material made available through the main art therapy organization in France, the Centre d’ Etude de I’Expression in Paris. Books, periodicals, organizations, and institutions included were chosen for their use of art therapy techniques and their usefulness as examples of the range of medical/psychological practice.
