Abstract/Description

The purpose of this study is to explore effective class management strategies for early childhood classrooms, specifically in kindergarten. Effective classroom management is important because it sets up the classroom so that the teacher can actively engage the students in learning. This research is significant because new teachers need to learn how to organize and manage classrooms effectively and efficiently. My study will address one research question: What are effective classroom management strategies in early childhood education? The research will be conducted through observations in a kindergarten classroom. The observations will focus on what classroom management strategies the teacher employs and how the students react to them. I predict that these observations will find that there is an immense amount of effective classroom management strategies in the classroom, especially at the kindergarten level of child development.
