Abstract/Description
Misdiagnoses as well as under-diagnoses occurs in the health field, specifically patients with a mental health illness or disease. This is found to be a result of stigmatization from social influences, lack of knowledge, deliberate misdiagnoses, and overall avoidance of testing as well as screening due to these factors. A systematic review is conducted and the results are presented of the frequency of misdiagnoses and under-diagnoses in the United States.
