Abstract/Description

Charged Footwear

The Business Strategy Game is an online interactive simulation that promotes healthy competition amongst peers. Once seperated into groups, the collective objective is to manage all business operations and run a successful athletic footwear company. The Business Strategy Game parallels the real world athletic footwear market therefore all decisions regarding warehouse and plant operations, sales, marketing, finance and workforce compensation lies in the hands of the players. It’s important to keep in mind that the additional challenge is to successfully execute a competitive strategy that produces good financial performance. The Business Strategy Game guides teams through the entire decision making process to help them choose the best rates and prices for important factors such as compensation and training, branded production, distribution, internet and wholesale marketing for creating and maintaining a competitive advantage in the footwear industry. Teams must aim to meet the investor expectations in the game in order to keep a high ranking on the industry scoreboard. Our group is running Charged Footwear. Our goal is to maintain healthy profits while instilling a low-cost provider strategy. Along with working towards our goal to create healthy profits we also plan to meet and surpass the investor expectations on each of the scoring measures. Creating strong profits along with holding a high ranking on the Business Strategy Game scoreboard will allow for Charged Footwear to create a sustainable competitive advantage for themselves. Establishing a competitive edge can be difficult since drastically cutting costs is not an easy task but we hypothesize that we will gain long term benefits in this cost saving approach by being successful low-cost leaders.
