San Pablo Creek is an interplay of light, shadow, reflection, refraction, and movement presented by the artist almost as a dreamscape. We are caught in a moment of solitude and of water as it gently burbles along the crook of a creek, bending the dappled light of a sky simply suggested by reflected flashes of dazzling azure. In balance, upon its bank, an Indian summer palette fills the background, adding depth as well as warmth to this scene that is as familiar as it is inviting.
