Abstract
Often misunderstood as naive or unrealistic, the Romantic Ideal, explored by writers and artists in the 19th century, may have untapped merit crucial to our modern world. Continuously in flux, life has the potential for chaos at any time. In pursuing the Romantic Ideal, acknowledging it may never be fully achieved, one might develop a Romantic way of life that helps to bridge the gap between reason and passion. Through mindfully riding the flux of chaos and peace one can learn to move gracefully through a world of uncertainty, noticing the beauty hiding within the guaranteed imbalances of life.
