Abstract

Olivia Knuffke will explore the deep relationship between music and medicine. Her paper explores how music can be used to heal and promote wellness, in both physical and mental health. Music is an accessible, non-invasive way to help alleviate medical symptoms and increase healing. It is truly incredible how powerful are the effects of this art form on daily stress, physical disease, and mental trauma. This essay points out that, because of its great healing power, music should be used more widely as a healing tool in hospitals, clinics, and medical centers.
