Abstract

This paper will address issues that will be of interest to art therapists working with abused children. Some of the topics to be discussed will be: the dynamics of the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client, using art therapy in building a therapeutic relationship, and treating problem areas of the child in an institution for abused children. A case study will show how graphic indicators of child abuse, as well as sexual abuse, emerged in the art of an abused child.
