Submission Guidelines for Senior Theses and Capstone Projects

1. Formatting Your Thesis

Early in your thesis process, check with your department for all details related to format and required interdepartmental copies.Save your thesis as a Word document or PDF

The Advisor's page

In order to avoid identity theft, we do not want to post people's signatures online. Instead of your signature page, include a typed version with your thesis including the name of your thesis advisors and the date they accepted your thesis(see an example).

2. Format the File Name for Your Thesis

Please format the file name of your thesis as follows: MT-DepartmentYearLastName-ShortTitle.

  • Do not use spaces between words in the title.
  • Capitalize the first letter of each word of the file name.

Example: ST-HCS2014Robertson-MyThesisTitle

ST: designates this file as a senior thesis

Department:  See a list of short codes to use for your major

Year: author's official year of graduation.

Last Name: author's last name.

Short Title: the first 3-4 words (or the most relevant words) of the title of your thesis.

3. Uploading Your Thesis

  1. Click on the Submit Research link
  2. Create a New Account
  3. Read the licensing agreement
  4. Fill out the form
  5. Upload your document

After you submit your paper, we will create an Adobe Acrobat (PDF) version of it and publish it on the site. You will be notified by e-mail when the paper is posted. If you have questions please contact dominican.scholar@dominican.edu
