Abstract

Reading to children is a wonderful and powerful tool that can be used to expand knowledge and unlock imaginations. Many children have different capacities for learning as well as differing learning styles. Children can benefit from a variety of stimuli when it comes to reading and being read to. After researching many works of children’s literature, I have found that there are benefits to engaging with children’s books that contain an audio accompaniment. I have created the book, Greta’s Journey: The Life of a Guitar, to show that an audio component can add more opportunities for learning and engagement for children while reading.
