Abstract/Description

Our capstone project for the Barowski Business School is designed to incorporate information we have learned as business students through our 4 years at Dominican University. The project consists of an online business simulation in which groups of students manage global shoe companies and makes decisions concerning the operations, marketing, production, distribution, CSR, and meeting investor expectations. The groups are based on each student’s concentration so that every group has a range of specialties, and the groups compete against one another for global market leadership in the simulation. Each week the groups can make changes to their strategies based off of their predictions of future market conditions and competitor actions. Each week in the game represents a simulated year of business, after which new strategies and predictions are made. The goal of the capstone project is to give students experience in working in multidisciplinary teams and making long-term business strategy decisions that are simulated and tracked over a ten-year period.
